| Conventions | Description |

| Code | Indicates file names, source code, examples, user inputs, keyboard keys, shortcuts, or program outputs. |
| Label | Indicates labels and key words inside the program’s user interface. |
| Product | Indicates product and other names that should be emphasized. |
| Value | Represents a variable’s value such as for example a default value. |
| ⟨Text⟩ | Indicates a placeholder, whereby the word “Text” is replaced by a real descriptor. |
| [⟨Text⟩] | Indicates a button to be clicked, whereby the word “Text” is replaced by the real button name. |
